Stay HOME, Stay Safe & Well
COVID-19 is an unprecedented and rapidly evolving situation, and we recognize this is a scary time for all of us. Public health officials are working closely with our colleagues across the country and our partners in Ontario and Hamilton to limit the spread of the virus and increase capacity within the health system to respond.
During this state of emergency, we must all work together to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Here are important steps we are requiring to take:
- Stay home as much as possible. Only go out for medical appointments and essential shopping
- When you are out, practice social distancing by limiting contact
with other people (stay 2 metres (6 feet) apart) and have no more than 5 people
together.
- Shop only for essentials, such as groceries and prescription medication and only have one person doing the shopping.
We want everyone to be safe and when CORE Kids is back up and running (AND WE WILL) we want to see you! Please do your part, stay home, be informed and stay well!
Please make sure you know the correct information – Canadian, Provincial and Municipal partners have lots of information that is correct and factual. Do not believe everything you see on social media and the web without confirming and trusting the source.
Continue to learn. There are so many opportunities for each of you to learn, the School Board has on-line learning, we are posting lots of additional resources for learning and you can learn a lot from Mom or Dad.
Enjoy the fresh air & sun! Be safe doing so, play in your backyard or front yard. Play fields and playgrounds are closed, but you still can get some exercise at home
Keep in touch. Facetime, Chat or phone your friends and family members. We miss everyone, but we can still keep in touch. Post on social media, or even write and mail a letter or picture.
Say well. Stay home and make sure you are not at risk. There are many resources out there for you including the Kids Help Phone Line https://kidshelpphone.ca/
We know that together we will fight this pandemic, and that if we stay home, stay well we will all be together again soon. Keep your spirits high, keep talking and having fun and be safe!
